Oludeniz everything that you need to know
One of the most beautiful areas in the world.
Oludeniz is a small holiday resort in Fethiye and is home to one of the most photographed beaches ın the world. It is made up of two parts, the main long stretch of beach called Belcekiz and the Blue Lagoon which is part of a nature reserve and costs 5-7TL to enter. Oludeniz means ‘dead sea’ due to the Blue Lagoon being calm and still, similar to a swimming pool.
There are no residental properties in Oludeniz. The area is a full holiday resort of hotels, shops, restaurants and bars. You can catch a mini bus ‘Dulmuş’ from Fethiye, Hisarönü or Ovacik to Oludenız, they run every 5-10 minutes from Fethiye and cost around 5-6TL. The last dulmuş from Oludeniz is 1am, however taxis run all night.
There are many activies to enjoy in Oludeniz. The most popular and a must do is a tandem paraglide off the top of Babadag Mountain. Babadag mountain is 2 km high and thousands of paragliders visit the area for a stunning flight experience every year. The average cost for a tandem paragliding is £50-65. Durıng October Oludeniz hosts the famous Oludeniz air games which attracks thousands of people every year not only to experience a stunning flight off the top of Babadag but spectators watching from below. Other actives include water sports such as parasailing and
speed boats. You will not however find any jet skis here due to the Caretta-Caretta sea turtles.
The main beach is where most of the boat trips start from. There are a few different boats you can catch from 6 & 12 island tours to Dragon’s party boat. Whatever you feel best suıts you, you wıll find in Oludeniz. All boat trips start
from £10 and include transfers from your accommodatıon and a BBQ lunch, all drinks are charged onboard.
Eating out is a must do in Turkey and Oludeniz offers some of the best restaurants in the area. You can find everything from a full English breakfast to Mexican and Chinese foods. Most of the restaurants are along the sea front and have amazing vıews for a romantic sunset dinner. Or if you are feeling very adventurous why not try Babadag 1700 Bar and Grıll with the best views from the top of Babadag mountain. Nıghtlife ın Oludeniz is very diverse from quiet lounge bars to dance bars going on until 2am. You can also fine your family friendly bars with childrens play areas and family entertainment. There is always something going on in the bars in Oludeniz wether its the Glamour Girls hosting a promo night in their VIP bar or a live band playing along one of the sea front bars theres something for everyone to enjoy.
There are many shops along the main Street in ölüdeniz where you will find your bargın ‘Turkey originals’ from handbags to the latest trainers. However if the markets are more to your taste you will have to go up the hill to Hisarönü where you wıll find the popular Monday market or head to Fethiye for the much larger Tuesday market.
